I'm 11/11 with the Rage 3. Great blood trails and short recoverys.

I use to be a fixed blade person all the way and loved the Montec G5 and its one piece design. Sumner twisted my arm though and I finally tried some expandables. My now go to head is the Rage 2 blade 2 inch cut. There is definitely something to say about a larger cutting diameter!

Great success here with Rage 2's and Rage Crossbows. :)

well you come to the right place for answers on favourite b/head's.. to be honest, there isn't one single "best" broadhead.. .. alot of companies offer great broadheads.. excalibur offers great broadheads, rage, slick tricks, wasp broadheads, schwackers, etc.. do a customer review on some of these by visiting their sites, but what you want to consider are 3 things.. 1) accuracy.. you want a broadhead that will fly true, fly like a field tip.. nothing worse than sighting in your crossbow with your fieldtips, put in your b/h's and find out they're out 4 inches at 20 yards.. 2) cutting surface.. i like ( again, this is my personal preference) a large cutting broadhead.. for obvious reasons, the larger the enterance wound, the larger the bleed channel allowing for a faster, more humaine bleed out, not to mention it also is more forgiving if your shot is a little off.. and 3) durability.. you don't want a broadhead that meets the first 2 criteria, yet falls apart or blows up after one use.. you want a broadhead that can take a beating, something that may only require a quick pass of a broadhead sharpener.. i , myself, like that wasp jackhammer SST, 125 grain... best of luck and hopefully you find the right b/h for you..

Use the BIG ones. We kill via blood loss . . .just makes sense to do as much cutting as possible.

From left to right . . .new Stricknine, old Stricknine, Spitfire and Slick Trick.

I have used all of these with a very good success rate. My favorite for deer is the new Stricknine . . .3 blades, 2" cut and 125 gr.

I setup my arrows for about a 15% to 20% FOC, and fletch them with 2" blazers or 2" Rayzr feathers, with a RH helical from an AZ EZ Fletch Bolt.

Slick Trick stds or magnums in 125gr fly great and come to you SUPER sharp.
Montec G5s fly great and are what I'm shooting a a bison (Lord willing) on Monday.
Magnus Stinger 150 gr 2 blades fly well too and will go down range at a hog in March I hope

As for mechanicals, I'm not a fan of over the top type heads, nor of the Rages (had one open early on me), but the Swhackers fly well and leave a big hole.
