What Broadheads Do You Shoot.

Post by BowmanPa »

I am getting ahead of myself since I do not even have a Crossbow yet but want to know what everyone is shooting as far a Broadheads. I did a similiar post on another site and it ended up turning into a bashing so I do not want to do it here just want to get a feel what works and what does not.

In the end it is what I think will work best for me.

Also I had an idea to do a what other sites call a Broadhead swap. Swap a couple Broadheads with other members with what they have to see if the boardheads work for you and vise versa. Just a thought. :)

Not much bashing here, that is undeserved anyway.

All I can say is that I've had very good luck with factory set up - firebolts and boltcutters. Would like to try some others and shoot at some longer ranges, just never have time to try this and that. :)

150 grain Slick Trick Crossbow tricks with Easton firebolts and aluminum insert. Plan on moving up to Black Eagle Executioner .001's with lock n load inserts and 100 or 125 grain Slick Trick mags for this year.

175 Slick Tricks seemed to tune best with my setup.

5 deer shot in November, not one dropped further than 25 yards.

Magnus ss snuffer and stinger fixed blade, life time warranty on these two, also the g5's, all three are easy to tune for accuracy with any arrow.

I use Firebolts but opt for the Thunderhead 125 BH. Does the trick for me.

I switched this year from Spitfire Maxx/Edge. To the Ramcats I bought the 100gr BH and 125gr replacement blades. That gave me a fixed head with a 1.5" cut that flies dead with my field tips.

Rage 100 grain 2 blade switching to the new Rage Hypodermic when they are released. Never had any issues with them opening prematurely or accuracy so I am sticking with them.

175 gr. slicktricks on firebolts refletched with 2" blazers using the ezfletch bolt tool. Very accurate at all ranges and reduce noise and vibration because of a heavier arrow, in this case close to 470 gr.

Emmett ;
I use slicktrick mags. or WASP JAK-Hammers 1 3/4" cut that way if there is a shot a bit far back we still find the deer just have to wait an hour or 2. All the deer I ( my kids and I ) shot but 2 we have seen fall none have gone over 80 yrds. I have not let them shot at any over 30 yards I may have shot one at 35 but why push the shot we can and will have deer closer through out the year. Let them walk to hunt them another day .
