hard case for exocet 200

Post by bbbwb »

Looking for sources for a hard case. Does Excalibur make one?
I have found Vanguard Saberlock X which looks to be a good case for air flight. To locate retail outlets in Canada --- southwestern Ontario ---- I have not.
Any comments or suggestions welcome regarding what is available.
Thanks

any quality, airline approved double rifle case would be your best choice. Remove your riser bolts and break the bow into two pieces. Reassemble when you get to your hunting location and you are good to go.

From the site: "Even Excalibur crossbows fit :D :D :D " What's wrong with these Excals?

Being recurve, they are wider than most crossbows is all as far as case fit.

Thanks for the size advice, I hadn't thought of that.

Rudolph's suggestion of breakdown by removing limbs----- I have never taken the limbs off----but I gather that does not create problems in the accuracy ----- test shooting after assembly will nullify those concerns.

Thanks to all for your help and the saving of some money.

Nope, you don't remove the limbs, they stay on the riser. You unscrew only the riser and the foot stirrup. The bigger cases can even accommodate the crossbow with the scope on it. Exactly as on this picture:

I'm not scoped and the smaller case works also fine:

My Exocet sleeps in Plano Mantra case, very solid and well made but very big, am now wishing I did not give my double rifle case to my buddy

Just for the record: some particular countries are so anti gun that you are not allowed to transport your crossbow in public places, if it is ready to be cocked. The crossbow must be taken down. Forget about the hunting.

the one thing i dont like about the Manta case is that the limb tips are too close to the case walls. the tips can rub and slam on the sides.if they designed a way to make the foot stirup lock solid it wouldnt be so much a problem.i have to use the solid rigid foam that comes with the case wedged in front of the stirup so it takes out the play and sets the limbs back so they dont have any clearance rub issues.

How wide is the manta case? How wide is the exocet? I see amazon lists it as fitting but it says the dimensions are 33" wide. My eclipse is 36".
Thanks!

if no one knows the bows measurement off hand, I will go measure mine, but I cannot help you with case measurement, I sold the case and now use the Excal soft case. If I was throwing my bow in the bed of a pick up I would never had sold it, it was a very solid case, but in my Corolla it took up the whole trunk.
