Both.
If I have a properly positioned tree stand I prefer to use it. If not, or if I want to move, the ground will do as conditions permit.

I prefer base of a tree using the same seat for Turkey hunting or a pail with a swival seat.
Had a doe come in at 15 yds while I was sitting on the pail last season.

Can't beet the view from a tree stand but prefer the ground. Ground blinds in the rain other than that I don't like being enclosed. Usually my chair and natural cover, play the wind that's all that maters. At 60 yard 15' up your are in the deer's line of sight. In tree stands I tend to move to much and on the ground I fall a sleep and snore.
