Anyone mounted a picatinny rail ....

Post by XcaliburFX »

Anyone mounted a picatinny rail underneath the foregrip of your crossbow, to add a vertical hand grip? If so any pics? I have issues with my hands, they simply will not turn flat palm up, and I figure a grip up front would be just the ticket.

Thanks, saw that , but it is a bit further forward than I wanted. I want mine where I would normally hold my hand, stretching forward like that, even though a few inches, would not suit my needs.

But thanks for sharing it. :)

You can use a Weaver type mount for a Marlin 336(flat on bottom) they are probably cheaper.

Yep, had one on my bow and took it off. Ended up not liking it, had a decent grip just to much play not solid. Also couldn't get comfortable in the stand grip was more of a hinder. All in all Excal. had it right plain and simple. One note make sure your holes are drilled to the right diameter the stock material is tough/dense. You can easily snap/break those small screws if your holes are a tad off, don't ask!

Im in the process of mounting a rail and handle to an exomax. I have the tac pac and didnt like it so much. The rail is so long on an exomax that it does put the handle too far out. There is also a little wiggle play in the handle that i cant get use to. I found a synthetic solid handle that comes with a small piece of rail on ebay. Its the magpul moe grip. Im mounting mine just in front of where the stock forearm ends. For me its a better fit. Im waiting for the stock to come back from the dippers. Theres many options for bare rails and picatinny grips on ebay.

Thanks for the replies. If it were not for my hands not being able to turn flat palm side up, I would not worry with it. However, I do think it will help me in the long run. Several great ideas on here, that i will definitely be checking into.

heck when cashiers give me change back it just slides out of my hands. lol

o wow Mo wannabe that bow is super awesome looking how is the finish holding up? I'm looking to pick up one of the new excalibur matrix bows and will be selling my kodabow to get one!! But i've been debating on the real tree or black. I will be putting the picitinny rail on it as well and mounting my surefire flashlight on it as well with a forward grip ;)
