Cases for Excalibur bows

Post by cspot »

Was wondering what cases both hard and soft that everyone is using for the old Excaliburs as well as the new Matrix. I have one of each and would like to get a case for both of them.

I have the unlined and padded fabric cases as well as the deluxe T shaped padded csae. (Vortex & Phoenix) I like the fabric cases for just covering up the bow for "local" use and I like the deluxe T case for longer trips when I'm looking for a bit more protection for my bow.

Excals, deluxe T soft case. There is a hard case, I think it is called a "Manta". But it is huge.

So you guys think for traveling a double rifle case and taking down the bow is the way to go? For around home I don't need a case, but am planing a trip this summer for hogs and wanted to protect the bow when traveling.

i have the Manta. its a beast and takes up too much room. for an over the road trip i would go with the gun case. someone has photos of what it looks like.soft case offers good protection but no where near a hard case.

I found this on Amazon. Seems like this would be a pretty cheap case.

Double rifle case is the only way to go (IMHO) for travel. Transports easier than a hard T-Case and it's very simple to break an excal into 2 pieces. Just be sure to pack the allen wrench with your bow. I bought an extra one and keep it in my case, for when I travel with friends and don't have access to the tools in my own truck.Bad feeling when you get to camp and you remember that your allen wrench is at home on the spam table.

I have the Plano Manta case, its well made, very solid and can hold my arrows, cranker, and a small box that i keep my wax, extra strings, broadheads etc in. BUT, like Moedaddy and foofoo said, its big ! Great if your throwing it in the back of a pick up, but it takes way to much room in my car.
I am now wishing I did not give away my dbl rifle case, but am now keeping my eye open for one because i think thats the way to go.

I have used both Plano hard case and the double rifle case.
I like the double rifle case is what I use now.
The biggest reason is space and stability.
Plus try flying with the big plano case.
May my aim be true and my arrow fly straight

I fashioned a hard case for my Excals which will fit all of them, even my Matrix, but I also had a smaller Allen padded soft case I used on another compound crossbow and this smaller one fits my 355 just fine. My Matrix will fit in practically all of the cases available now on the shelves of sporting goods stores. Just another plus for the Matrix.......

October Mountain Products makes a soft padded case that any Excal will fit into. It is about half the cost of Excals deluxe T. I use it for my Exomax and plan to get one for my daughters Phoenix. Works great for hunting local!!!
