Vertical Help

Post by taz3 »

As my son says, "How come Excalibur doesn't make Vert Bows?"

Seems how they don't, he would like to know if anyone makes a comparable compound bow vert bow to Excals crossbow, both in quality and service. What should he look for and do you have any brand recommendation? This will be his first bow, so he's not going to break the bank, he'll probably look at something used first, to get a better bang for his $.

Or should I just tell him to GET OUT, we can't be related no more?

If he is right handed
I have a older bear bow.
It will be 2 weeks before we return home.
If he wants it it is his.
I at one time shot right handed but do to shoulder injury switchecd to left and found I shoot better.
May my aim be true and my arrow fly straight

How old is he? Is he looking for a recurve or compound?
Some people just like stepping on rakes

Start out right and buy a lower end Hoyt or Mathews. They would be top end of some other companies. Make sure it is setup proper for weight and draw lenght so no bad habits are formed. Love my compounds!

I have had 3 PSE's over the years and love them. The most important thing though is fit and feel. Before I bought my last bow I went to the Bow Shop in Waterloo I tried a Hoyt, a Bowflex, and an Elite. The grip and balance of the PSE stood out to me over the others. Any of these quality manufacturers would suit the purpose. Get him to a good bow shop where he can try different bows and see what fits. Speed bows are alittle more tempermental and solid technique is required, but if he learns on one it's easier than trying to break bad habits later on. Good luck with the search.

Can't go wrong with an elite. Plus,
they have a lifetime warranty.

I love my 2010 Hoyt Turbohawk. I searched and searched to find another lefty and could not. Settled for a new 2012 Hoyt Rampage XL brand new off Ebay for $396 to my door. Rampage is my new target and 3D bow. Will shoot Hoyt for fishing bows someday if I get a Hoyt sponsership. Till then a Mission Craze and Menace by Mathews. They all get along on the wall and have yet to hear even a cross word between them coming from my hunting room.
