Hey did Leupold get back to you about a custom crossbones scope or are you going with the Leupold VX-R 2-7x33 Ballistic Firedot scope?

Great review and glad you're happy with it!

I'm hoping they'll sell a bare model, rather then step it up with a better scope. while most guys are happy with some models of scopes, it would be nice to add what each prefers on their own rather then a generic model. That's a tough one to suck up, knowing a scope is a few bucks and receiving one that doesn't fit your bill 100%.

Selling the Matrix without a scope, should stimulate and increase sales. Giving the consumer a choice of optics, would be great marketing strategy. In my opinion, it would attract those who are presently deterred by having to purchase it as a kit, only to have to try and unload a scope which is not to their liking.

Furthermore, from my point of view, the Matrix, has indeed changed everything, but it should only be the beginning of the evolution. If I was a "head honcho" at Excalibur, my next move would be not to compete in the speed wars, but rather create models that replicate the draw-weights of the Exo series models, using "Matrix sized" frames and limbs. Such models would appeal to the demographics of an aging baby boomer population, which currently has most of the disposable cash.

Great idea Norm, but I think mine is not only more feasible, but also not as far-fetched.

If I was a betting man, I'd say my idea will one day see the light of day.

Who knows, perhaps that day will come sooner than we think. Only time will tell.

Oh OK, I cannot think of a better illuminated scope for an Excalibur crossbow then the Leupold VX-R 2-7x33 Ballistic Firedot scope.
