My first run at cottontails, hunted a half hour or so this morning. What a fun sport!

Looks like a great time David.
What is that pretty shotgun you're using? :)

That gun is an SKB, it was a gift from a buddy. Too thick on this land to use my bow, I plan to thin it out a bit this summer if I have the time. One of the two rabbits was in a clearing, but moving fast. Ill try again with the bow soon.
These were my first, wife is going to cook them on Sunday, looking very forward to it!

I used to love rabbit hunting, jumping on brush piles and waiting for one or more to run out. Dam Goodyear turned the woods into a tire dump :x and ive yet to find another good spot to hunt them.

Those are goin to be some good eating. :D

Oh yeah, bunny hunting, what a blast. I love bunny hunting, dang back is shot to heck. My daughters year purebred Beagle took to chasing a bunny behind the house the other day. Let me tell you when that bunny and dog would come up from down back and break into a clearing where I could watch her and that bunny, that bunny never had a chance to think which way it was going to go next,   . The bark was a roar, load enough to scare that bunny to death if you know what I mean,   .

David, thanks for the photos, that brought back a lot of good memories, :D :D .

Sounds gross, but as a kid we would grab them with both hands on the neck and keep squeezing as you move your hands down its body creating inner pressure in the lower extremities of the rabbit, then while still squeezing and holding that pressure swing the rabbit over yer head like an axe and the innards will pop right out the bottom of the rabbit.
