Shooting and hunting with open sights
Just thought I would show an idea I had for those who have to use open sights and hope that it might help. They sell florescent paint in a small painters pen to apply it with and I thought it might help with low light conditions. It worked pretty good for us but we are now going to go with a scope.

Sharp work ... looks great.
Keep us updated how it works in low-light conditions.

Lucky-dog, How do you know where to aim for longer shots? The design looks like the peepsite on my brothers model 94.

Re: Shooting and hunting with open sights
practice practice practice
you can use the pin from the top and bottom for different distances once you have sighted the centre
By the way great job
I am going to try it tomorrow
Here is what I have done in the past your idea is much better i think as it requires little work to do.

Thanks for the replies. I believe WallyWorld sells the paint pens. I only shot at 10, 20, and 30 yards but Im sure you can try further with them.

How big is the hole in the peep site? Thinking of buying a lower pound crossbow for bowfishing.

Re: Shooting and hunting with open sights
Im not sure of the exact size of the hole and really don't have a real accurate way of measuring it but I will say that it is still factory size if that helps.
Good luck.

I've thought about modifying a peep for xbow fishing by cutting a wedge out of the top of it and removing the 'posts' in the front sight.secret wrote:How big is the hole in the peep site? Thinking of buying a lower pound crossbow for bowfishing.
Hard to describe in words, but I can see it clear in my mind, lol.

I cut the ring off mine long ago an just have the center pin . don,t like anything to block my view of my target for my Kentucky windage an elevation. sometimes them little voices get me in trouble by listening to them without thinking

Lol, the only thing holding me back is no bow fishable waters near me........flightattendant100 wrote:Are those "voices" talkin' to you again? lolawshucks wrote:I've thought about modifying a peep for xbow fishing by cutting a wedge out of the top of it and removing the 'posts' in the front sight.secret wrote:How big is the hole in the peep site?
