new Matrix advertisement

Post by fujimo »

After reading the latest exblast article on the new Matrix I was left with a burning question in my mind I just have to inquire about.
It states of course that its shorter, lighter, faster and then it states that you get 60% longer limb life? I have to ask myself I only get 40% limb life on my ExoMax or what?
I mean I guess I pretty much thought if you didnt do anything stupid..ie dry fire alot.smack a limb whatever that the limbs pretty much last a life time :?
I guess the out right question is what is the limb life? do they weaken with age or go bad after awhile or what? Any answers for this question?

This is a quote from the marketing dude:

Glad to hear most like our new models. We have been working on this new concept for quite a while and have been very excited with the performance. Here are a few answers to some of the questions posted:

At the moment these crossbow models will be sold in kit form only.
The 18" arrows is recommended due to the short mainframes but you can use 20" if desired.
Our existing limbs are already bullet-proof however, through multiple dry-fire testing the new limbs did even better if you can believe it!
The anti-dry-fire unit is called the guardian and is available as an accessory, it will fit every crossbow model we have ever made!
These new bows are small, when you place one beside any of our classic models the difference is huge.

Many dealers have these new crossbows already although they are barely getting out of the boxes before they're sold. You really need to get one of these bad-boys in your hands to appreciate them. I hope I helped with some of the questions.

It had already been answered several times.
Short answer:
When testing they dryfire them till they fail. The Matrix 355 handled dryfires 60% longer than most excals do. The Matrix 380 did not hold up as well so they added an ADF and the string stoppers on it to bring it up to the level of the 355.
They will all last a lifetime. Only crossbow company I have heard of with less than a 1% limb failure rate and that is mostly from limb splinters that do not hurt performance.
