Great kit ... thanks for sharing the photo, and, thanks for sharing the incident that happened to your "friend". I check my arrows by flexing before using them but did not think to check my hooks. Good lesson pre-learned.

Thanks.

I would have never thought to check my cocking aid
I just got it last year for my old bow
Maybe had 20-30 pulls on it.

So lesson number two, well you all know this one
Make sure you check your arrows closly.
There was a small "rub" mark on one of my arrows.
I could feel it wasnt quite smooth
Needless to say it was more than a mark
This is after a small flex test on it

Image

One problem with my target is that it slightly tilts back or sideways a bit when it gets hit, therefore every arrow after the one before is slightly on a different angle. That's when i must have hit an arrow. But that's the price you pay when the groups are tight. Once I hang it it should fix that issue.

But on a positive note, im closing up my groups.

If you really like your arrows you will learn to shoot spots instead of groups.

I use a lot of magic marker since arrows got so expensive.

Hey Swampy----
The original cocking aid had aluminum hooks on it!

Nice bow and good shooting!
Tell that guy I'm glad he didn't get hurt too bad when his rope cocker let go.
