Anybody hunt Turkey with their Excal?

Post by Chefrific »

Was thinking about taking my vortex to the turkey blind this spring. Just curious if any of you turkey hunt with yours and what broadhead/setups you use.
Thanks!

Welcome to the forum Chefrific,
March 25 will be after those ole thunder chickens. Last season i used Boltcutter 150 grain, gonna try a 100 gr Spitfire "Gobler Getter" this year, both with a stock Firebolt arrow.
Hey have a good time with the excal & hunt safe.
Good luck, Hoagy

one of the areas I hunt doesn't allow sunday gun hunting. Those are xbow days :D

I use wasp jackhammers but any large D mech bh's work well. I've seen 2 birds that had been body shot with 3 blade rage. Almost cut birds into pieces.

Last year was my first try with the xbow and worked out in my favor! i just used what i used for deer 125g wasp hammer sst,s! this year will use the same and try the 125g swhackers! shot placement is the key on turkey for they don,t fly! someone else sugested swickies i think which helps arrow stay in bird so it can,t fly!
