sorry I edited my post didnt mean to say all the time. Yes what you posted to me is user error. How many times have bows been dry fired and limbs break ? User error! Run over by atruck? My point is don't usually hear limbs just coming apart unless was user error.

I have the personal privilege of being invited to the top secret room to witness Excalibur limbs being made (few have). 250,000 individual strands of fiberglass go into each limb (maybe more in the 355/380 limb) and I can't see that many strands getting together at once and breaking without a traumatic event taking place first.

excals do have there problems... all crossbows do.
excals may be super durable, but there is always gonna be the occasional failure.
limbs will break and scopes will fail.... but the warranty is what counts.

Looking through the different forums, there are scope problems from various brands.

Here's a hypothesis.
50 people work in an offshore factory.
They are paid very little.
They work on piece work.
1 don't give a $hit and just throws them together to make high piece work.
Quality control does not check every one, maybe only 5% or maybe only 1%.
Cost of warranty is a non-issue because of low cost of production.

Scopes that come in packages are likely all made this way.

YUP my box had a big made in China on the bottom of it, now I will say I have and still get a lot of quality kit ex China, but this scope is not one of them, EXcal are skimping on this one big time.

Most of the crossbow manufacturers are very price conscious. They try to keep the cost down to be attractive to the masses.Using an American made scope would raise price quite a bit, I guess more than the manufacturers think the market will bear. The Excal scopes do a great job..... Unless they break! While they are working they are a super bargain for what they do and what they cost.I am a Leupold guy, but also have two Vari-Zones that so far have been good scopes. When they poop the bed they there will be Leupolds on them.Fool me once.......
