vane to nock distance...

Post by jody5252 »

greetings... I set-up my Bohning tower jig today to start fletching x-bow arrows. anyone use one of these?? did a dry run just to check vane to nock distance. seemed ok. so, I fletched a few, using 2* right offset, with 3" flex-fletch vanes. the closest I can get is 1 3/8" is that to far?? if so, how would I decrease the gap?? I can only increase it, by adding a plate to the jig base... thanks!

It doesn't make a difference, I tried, and tried. Just keep them all the same.

This is how I adjusted the spacing with the tower jig.

I use a "complete tower jig" jody, with the nock on the shaft I get 1 1/8" to end of shaft and 1 1/4" to end of nock,,, you can place a small washer or 2 , or however many you need to get the vanes as close to the rear as you want ,
