I use Nikon Monarch ATB when deer hunting. Use my Leupold range finder when I turkey hunt.

Compact these ain't but i have a 7x50 Pentax Bino's from 67 when i was in the service. I got them in the PX, still really good view wid'em
Re: Binoculars *****
I have a 10x set of Bushnells that are Realtree AP camo. These are a mid size set that work pretty good for me when hunting.

Two fantastic optics that I use are:
Pocket: Swarovski Habicht 10 x 25, small light and clear.
and
Midsize: Vortex Viper 6 x 32, best in its class, super clear and large field of view.

Y'all dont laugh..... I have a pair of Nikon "Travelites" in 7x21 that stay in the door of the pick-up for emergency. They are small, light, and relatively decent. They were almost free on e-bay (20 bucks)several years ago as I guess the 7x wasnt enough for most folks.Never have up-graded, admitting this may prompt me to though!
Re: Binoculars *****
stieners 8-30s military marines they are about $200 clams, very nice view, tough as nails dropped more than once out of my climbers, spent three month on a hook up in a tree dam near all winter, washed them with soap and water in sink no worse for wear, i have 9 yrs and i bought em used.
better an overkill than an underkill

Re: Binoculars *****
If you want something compact, why not a monocular?
And a cool review by Mr. Nutn'

PS. Seems the Nikon Monarch ATB is a really high quality middle price small binoculars.

Re: Binoculars *****
Not really compact but I hunted with Nikon Monarch ATBs in 8X42 for years and finally broke down and bought Swarovski 8.5X42 ELs. Expensive but I think it is the best money I have ever spent on sporting goods in my life. My Nikons are now used as spam window binos to watch the back field food plot with.
