Redesign of Stringing Aid?

Post by JT of PA »

.

http://www.excaliburcrossbow.com/catalo ... inging_aid

Does the stringing aid shown in the above copy/paste link have metal inserts on the sides or is just a molding thing?

Trying to figure out if this is similar to my stringing aid or a new, stronger redesign that is a "must have" for my kit.

Thanks,
John

I don't know but I bet a compeditor will likely have a new one out today the exact same. Just check CN or At later.

This is the same string aid I have and it is all plastic no metal of any kind on it.

Taz, did you check the link? There are 3 types of store boughts out there, the older blue/black w/ 1" round holes, the new one from Danny Miller [crappy pic below] and the new one from Excal. Both Millers and the new Excal have 'D' holes in them.

Talked w/ Danny today, he informed me the new Excal has a metal core, fwiw.

Hey folks,
What is the meaning of "fwiw"? I am behind the times with this computer lingo. I probably know it but have forgotten it.
Thanks,

Awshucks,

I appreciate the information from your talk with Danny Miller.

Did he say if the metal encircles the opening the limb tip goes through?

Thanks,
John

It would be pointless if it didn't, imho. The answer is yes he did talk about it.

Just made a set for someone on the forum who needed a stringing aid
glad they went with the flat bottom much easier on the finish of the limbs
IMHO
