Turkey # 2 down and season is over

Post by Hester0305 »

Well I finished off the season this morning with turkey # 2. I set up on my food plot and 3 hens and 2 jakes flew into the food plot shortly after day break. The 2 jakes went over to my decoy and started walking around it and gobbling. I took the largest jake with the Excal and he made a run after the Slick Trick hit him at about 22 yards but he didn't make it far before he just fell over. The other jake didn't know what happened and was still walking around my decoy before he went off toward the woods. I heard another turkey gobbling and of course here comes the long beard but my turkey season was already over. I'm sure the jake will taste just as good.

Congrats, must have been a blast. I see you are in a t-shirt, what is the temperature? It is a little cool and damp for just a t-shirt this month so far.
Thanks,
Raymond

Nice job Hester. I've been trying to bag my 2nd bird for a couple of weeks. I've passed on several small birds. Waiting on the long beard that I missed a few weeks ago. Hoping that he gives me another chance tomorrow morning.
