Soft cases work great as long as it's got a little padding, hard cases are very bulky.

With regards to borrowing a muzzleloader from someone in Canada:

I don't believe anyone who is the holder of a "Firearm Possession and Acquisition" permit can sell or loan anyone a firearm that does not possess the same permit.
It'll be easier to do the paperwork and take your own.

Thanks for the good luck wishes! I can't wait to go! I finally had time to shoot my super vixen yesterday and it hits exactly where it did about 2 months ago. I should be done with my fathers roof in about a week or so, then things can get back to normal and I can practice more and get all my stuff together.
