My R.E.D.S pads are coming apart. Are they warranted? Can I get replacement pads?

Really surprised they are a warranty item. They must be taken a pounding from the string. The same thing will probably happen to the new set of pads they send unless the rubber they are made out of is of a better quality.

Is this an Excalibur approved modification?

Who does the turning down work and who supplies these different rubbers?

Do you know of anyone that offers this lathe service?

I did see Norway String Tamer Rubber Stopper Replacement 2 pk on eBay, so are they much denser and last and last? They might be the ticket, much cheaper than Excalibur's S5/R.E.D.S. pads, plus if they outlast them win, win.

Rule of thumb, give the string 1/8'' gap from the bumper's, sure will last a lot longer.

my in law made me up a set of stops Like Tinkerers. I didn't have stock ones milled down.
its not the rubber so much as the shape of the stop itself.

Yes, I have had my Equinox string set 1/8" off the pads since day one. With starting out a new string I make the gap 1/2" until it settles to 1/8". I just think Excalibur's.pads could be made much denser, but they would of course sell less replacements.

set your string farther away. I have mine 1/2" min. its the round ball. it pinches the pad. with tinks style the pad shoulder takes most of the force. much more surface area to take the force.
