I only use my Equinox for 3D. There are tournaments most weekends year round in my area.
I loved shooting the Equinox straight out of the box. Many months later and due to joining this forum, I got a Boo Trigger job done. WOW what a difference that made. I thought the experience shooting the Equinox could not get any better. I was sooooo wrong.
I have been using TriggerTech’s target trigger for over 2 months now. This trigger has taken the accuracy of the Equinox to the next level. My groups have shrunk dramatically, scores soared resulting in either taking or placing in the crossbow category at tournaments. This has not always been in ideal conditions. I have shot in the rain, in the deep mud from the spring thaw and bush thick with mosquitoes. The trigger never let go until I wanted it to. I plan on shooting it in December to see how it performs in the cold. Will let you know…..
If any of you ever get the chance to try a TriggerTech trigger, make sure you do! You will not believe the difference from your stock trigger. Just one word of advice when shooting with it for the first time, make sure you are on target BEFORE putting your finger on the trigger.

Re: TriggerTech Update
Yes volcano it would/might apparently, but Excalibur also states "All warranty considerations will be at the discretion of Excalibur Crossbow".
As the warranty states: Several companies are producing aftermarket components specifically designed to fit Excalibur crossbow models. All modifications to any part of your Excalibur Crossbow product will be at your own risk. Any alteration or substitution of components on an Excalibur Crossbow product will VOID warranty and liability.
This implies putting on a custom string, bolting on a Munchmount quiver bracket would void warranty would it not? Yet tons of people here use these without a second thought. Just like in the vertical bow market third party parts are available and more will appear if the market is wanting. Which part, when incorporated into an Excalibur crossbow, will void warranty or not, who knows. Maybe Excalibur needs to be more specific in what parts it will allow.

Re: TriggerTech Update
The trigger is the heart of the bow so I would say that if you replace it and it fails your warranty would be void.
Maybe we should ask out right what will and will not void the warranty clarity is best when it comes to warranty.

What if you install another trigger and you have a problem with your Excalibur that was not caused or related to your trigger install? example: scope, rings, stock, limbs, reds, string, quiver, arrows.volfan wrote:Change out you trigger and void your warranty.

When doing a limb swap for a splintered limb has anyone been asked what string was on the bow when the limb splintered?enormous wrote:What if you install another trigger and you have a problem with your Excalibur that was not caused or related to your trigger install? example: scope, rings, stock, limbs, reds, string, quiver, arrows.volfan wrote:Change out you trigger and void your warranty.
Has anyone that had a scope go bad been asked if they had an after market string or trigger on their bow?
I think the answer will be no.
Excal is simply covering their butt cause you have people swapping out Middleton limbs, cutting the risers down, etc. They should not be expected to cover damages done by after market parts.

The original trigger in the Matrix 380 was "OK", and after a couple hundred shots became better.JPjunkie wrote:Why try to fix whats not broken
That said, I recently installed one of these new Trigger Tech triggers in both the M380 and my Partner's Exomax (my last Excalibur before the Matrix).
Don't have time really to get into it now as I am running to the Coast for a few days fishing work. But suffice it to say, we were both Mightily Impressed!
Zero creep, and breaks very smoothly and cleanly. I have rifles in the locker that would be downright envious, and I am indeed a very fussy shooter.
With all the testing behind them and the extreme quality of product these represent, I have No Fear whatsoever of warranty issues developing due to the trigger, and will be packing it as long as I have the bow.
I'll post a more detailed report once we get back to shooting them again (today was a little rushed due to my schedule)...
Cheers,
