Speed Ring on Tact-Zone

Post by Gmen »

Yesterday I shot my 355 and had some trouble getting it shooting in the bullseye. I finally had it shooting in the 1 inch bullseye at 20 yards. When I moved the target out to 30 yards the arrows shot right on horizontally, but shot 2 inches high. I moved the speed ring from 330 to 325, same 2 inches high. I then changed the speed ring to 335, same 2 inches high. Am I missing something here?

Your supposed to move back to 50yds after sighting in at 20.Adjust your speed ring at 50.Watch the video on this site about sighting in.

Thanks. I did watch the video. I guess I'll have to find a 50 yard range. I thought by adjusting the speed ring at 30 yards I could get it to shoot dead-on at 30 yards.

Try using the 20 yd. sight in then move to 40 yd. Adjust ring until that marker is on 20 yd. impact point. That should get it done. Search this forum. I read that procedure on here and it works.

I am using the Diablo arrows that came with the 355 and using the 150 gr target point. I'll try shooting it using rej's technique and search the forum for other ways of doing it. Thanks to all.

Sight in at 20
Move to 40 and shoot at aim point high up on target using 20 yard sight. You will hit way low.
Aim without an arrow loaded using the 20 yard sight again at same aim point and turn the speed ring till the 40 yard chevron is on the arrow you just shot. You should now be sighted in for 20-30-40-50.

Startling discovery - I was working with my bow today and I handled the scope and noticed that the front of it came up off of the rail by about 1/2 inch. None of the four screws that attaches the rail to the riser were tight. The front ones were very loose. I checked the video from Excalibur and it said they were tightened with Locktite at the factory. New buyers beware. No wonder I am having some sight-in problems. The other day I was tightening all screws that I installed on day one. I never thought about those four screws.
