Crossbow target suggestions

Post by Cossack »

Got 5 ragbag targets going but my +350fps bow tends to find "soft spots." Tired of refletching arrows with no blood on em. In the market for quality field tip target. Have checked Spiderweb for price, are there other options that are as good (e.g Bulldog?) Any suggestions for best buy vender appreciated. -

My ragbags are working great after supplementing the rags inside with some carpet remnants. I had a few shots that found soft spots and would bury to the fletching but adding a strip of carpet on either face of the target has been working great for the last two years.

I've got a morrel bone collector. Been shootin' the hell out of it with compound and excals for two years now(field tips only).Other than a few soft spots, seems to be holdin' up fine. not bad for around $70. I dont leave it outside when not using it.

Agreed, but do not shoot at this target up close. It will beat your arrows like it owes you money!

I just picked up a 3rd target, it's a McKenzie ShotBlocker X-Bow target rated at 400 fps, it still in the trunk of my car so I have not tried it out yet. It's a Model 20860.

Have had an 18-1 for 10-12 years. It looks pretty bad but still works. Got a delta bag target a few months back. After 5 or so shots in the center am ruining vanes. Switched points to blunt bullet type but the damage is already done. Wouldn't reccomend the delta. $50 wasted.

I have a two rag bags stuffed with folded old hotel sheets works good but can be stiff to get out. Rhino block works good and I find simple to come out if you twist the arrow first and also a hurricane that has stopped everything my 355 and vortex has thrown at it. I wouldn't get another hurricane as the skin is wearing fast. But it was cheap. Just rearrange your stuffing in the third hand.

Helped my neighbor set up his new axiom last weekend. He had a brand new HURRICANE bag target. It worked great on his axiom. After I finished his bow, I thought I would shoot my BEAST a few times. I should have known better. 2 shots, and 2 bolts buried completely inside bag. I knew that I should have used my Rinehart Rhino block. Guess I'll be fletching 2 bolts this weekend. Take the advise of my fellow Rinehart owners. If you only want to buy 1 more target in your life, get one of the Rineharts. The rhino block and the 18=1 are both winners.

I have my ragbags in a big press I made using 6 ft threaded bolt rods an oak 2x12 an I can crank it down so tight that alot of arrows will bounce out an be laying on the ground. works great for me an stops everything without arrow damage.
