NAP Killzone rear deployment broadheads

Post by Dave Campbell »

The don't recommend shooting the compound version out of a crossbow, however, the specs on this broad head are for compounds up to 350fps. My Vortex is shooting 320fps with a 100gr field point. I can't imagine the blades deploying at sub 350fps whether out of a crossbow or a compound. Can someone give me some insight please. Thanks for the assistance.

Thanks folks, well, I have three of the 100 grain and six of the 125 grain. I will be going back to the 85 grain Spitfires. Shot a pile of deer and hogs with them out of my compounds. Penetrated extremely well.

Well, I have shot both the 100 and 125 grain Killzones out to 50 yards with the practice blades. Both of them are on the money. I wonder if me fletching my bolts with a radical left helical helps stabilize the broad heads better. I know it does on a compound. I won't shoot deer past 35-40 and most under 20 due to heavy cover.
