reducing draw weight
hello
the compound bow I had I was able to reduce draw weight. does anyone know if it can be done with the new matrix? I may be able to handle the draw weight now but may not be able to in 5yrs. thanks

Re: reducing draw weight
The Matrix is a great bow to own and later down the road you can buy the c2 crank and it takes all the work out of cocking your bow ...mind you you cant uncock the bow with the c2 but you can always discharge an arrow into a target or into the ground if need be ...I woudnt worry about 5 years down the road not to sound smart but no one is promised tomorrow so enjoy today and take each day as they come...you can always buy a lower poundage crossbow and be just as successful with it as the higher poundage ones. Check out what Excalibur has to offer at the left of the page ...no matter your choice im sure you will be happy with it and the support they have. good luck and welcome to the forum.

X2, Can always go to the crank.
Re: reducing draw weight
Shortening the cocking rope a tad, will help reduce the top of the pull where it is the toughest.

c2 Crank .
Ima lazy buster,so i have the Crank
Wouldn't be without one.I can cock it and decock it .I dont recommend decocking cause if you let the handle go in free mode ,it will hurt sho nuf. I also use it to pull my string changer if need be.

Re: reducing draw weight
Thanks for the help. I'll try a few different models but I won't rule out the Matrix.

I couldn't shoot any xbow without a crank, and as said you can uncock it with the crank..... just got to be careful.

Re: reducing draw weight
I agree with the easy to cock and uncock. I uncock mine with the crank quite often. Just make sure you got a grip on the handle when you pull the trigger. I barely crank mine up to where the pressure is off the claws and then pull the trigger and crank it back down slowly.

Uncocking with the crank is like playing with a snake. Sooner or later you will get bit! JMHO. Be carefull. it does hurt.
I am a hunter and proud of it.

Re: reducing draw weight
I have found that un-cocking my Equinox using the rope cocking aid seems to me to be much easier than the cocking of the CB. I always do this before climbing down from my tree stand. I have to pull up the string on one side about 3" to 4" to engage the rope cocking aid claw before cocking.
