Flemish Strings

Post by Raymond »

I received a package the other day, I opened it up and inside were two strings from Dan aka xcaliber. I would like to thank Dan for the strings.

Thank you Dan for the strings, much appreciated.

I would like to shoot these strings and see how well they will hold up to my Equinox and make a report. I will keep keep track of my information and post the data as I go in regards to these strings. I will not be able to include any information in regards to speeds because I do not have a chronograph, but will post information about everything else. This will give me something to do before hunting season starts next month in September. The photos are not the best but our good camera is laying somewhere on the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean. The string mounted on my crossbow is bronze and black and it looks quite good actually, and the other one is a green and brown and that one looks pretty good too.

For now, this is the beginning of my post
Thanks,
Raymond

Dan makes high quality inexpensive custom flemish strings that perform flawlessly.

I only used Excalibur's flemish dyna flight strings on my Equinox. Once I tried one of Dan's strings, my crossbow was quieter and my arrows flew faster.

His excellent serving is holding up nicely on my Equinox as well.

I also recently put a Flemish dyna flight string on my Eclipse.
I noticed an overall increase in accuracy.
The one thing that did puzzle me was I had to bump the scope
up two clicks. If the bow is shooting faster wouldn't I have had to
decrease the elevation?

There is nothing else like it  It brings people together that has the same interest in hunting and shooting crossbows. This forum and the people in it makes it better than I could have ever expected it to be. This thread is one example.
Hats off to you Dan

‘Yes’ 2 clicks up for elevation.

Left & right was smack on, no adjustment needed.

I was shooting from the 20-yard distance I originally shot the bow in with the factory installed string.

I wish I had a chronograph.
I really don’t see any sign of increased arrow speed.
The arrows don’t penetrate the target block any further than they ever did.

My groups have noticeably tightened up using this new string.
That’s more important to me than a few extra fps anyway. :)

The new Flemish string has settled in to about two credit card thicknesses from the S5’s.
Is this the proper position for the Flemish Dyna Flight string :?:
It’s where I kept the factory Installed string.

I lost an argument w/ Boo about this, it turned out to be where the string hit the nock, i.e. diff diameter strings............

Thanks guys,
I would never have thought about that. Yes I always have stuff prepared ahead of time and have spare parts. But I have never once thought about having a second string ready to go in case of some kind of an accident. I always had a backup string but not all broke in. I will make sure of that now. I can't believe that I missed that.
Thank you very much,
Raymond

xcaliber wrote:Boo is absolutely correct. It is something most people do overlook, and the guys making crossbow strings know all to well when they do their own testing. It is one reason why you should have two strings of identical construction shot in, and ready to go before the season starts. You have shot them both in, and you know once you put it on, and set brace that the bolt is going where you aimed!
Agree, do ya happen to have one just like this one laying around
for a reasonable price :?: :D
