Heading out to git me a bar!

Post by agingcrossbower »

Leaving tomorrow with my friend Terry to hunt Bear in NW Ontario. Its been HOT, HOT, HOT up there this week but its suppose to break over the weekend so we hope. Completely made the bears nocturnal. That's the luck of out of state or country hunts, you just hunt the days your there and make the most of it. Hope I can place an arrow as good as Laura did. Her marksmanship is getting scary. Don claims they stink BAD, so I'll be sniffing for them. Wish us luck and I'll hopefully have pics of a cute cuddly soft furry teddy bear soon. Did I say that right Don?

Should be good fishing up that way as well so make sure to pack a rod.
The wilderness up there won't be that much different than your home state, I don't think.
Bug net for sure as repellants have too much odour.

Yes the bears really are stinky even without you as belly gas!
Once you smell one you will remember it for a long time.
Aging.....all the best of luck and have a safe trip.

Good Luck Mike!

Not to worry about aggressive bears. Black bears in the wild are more afraid of humans than you are of them Only time there can be an issue is if it's a sow with cubs and you get too close They tend to be overly protective of their young.

I've been picking wild blackberries and have a bear there near every time I go. It isn't the least bit aggressive. He has his place and I respect that so we get along just fine.
You sure you can skin griz, pilgrim??
