strap for stirrup

Has anyone replaced there stirrup with a strap was wondering how it would work

I use chainsaw starter cord an works great for me !

I can,t do pictures without my daughter :( but I just put each end up thru the holes in the riser an knot each one ( no string stoppers on mine an I use those holes.

Found an old thread with a picture. Looks awesome. Might have to try that for the season to take some weight off the front of my Ibex.

Vladimir uses a rope stirrup on his Vixen!

I've thought of switching to a rope stirrup, but I often hang my crossbow by the stirrup (on a screw-in tree step wrapped with tape to deaden sound) when hunting from my ladder stand and I'm afraid the rope might hang up when I reach to take the bow down.

BTW - The bow is on a limb that goes over my ladder stand so that the butt of the stock only about a foot above the foot platform of the stand. Even if it fell it would land in the stand with a shooting rail & skirt and could not fall to the ground below.

Its to bad he didnt shoot a whole in his dingy and drown because wre gonna be fightin them commis soon JMO

I think i will take a 1" strap and bolt it to the stirrup holes and see how i like it.
