To unstring or leave strung?

Post by grousegrove »

I suspect this topic has been well covered so I ask your forbearance. I left my Vortex strung since last fall. I have spent most of my off season obsessive energy fishing (good year!) and practising with a vert bow that I also hope to use to harvest a deer with here shortly. However I still love my Vortex and it'll get used this fall. I presume it'll still shoot alright and that my not shooting it is probably a greater sin than not taking the string off.... but I hope I'm not kidding myself. Do you know, do the limbs take a set or lose anything when left like that?

Its been a while since I've posted here, too, hope all are well. Matt

I took mine off the first yr I had them...no longer, no problem. You will want to test fire it, the string likely stretched some and caused the POI to change.
Vortex, Phoenix, single-shot rifles and handguns.
Incurable tinkerer.
Why hunt? Simple, it's BASIC. Why breath?!
