Thanks everyone, I took my wife this afternoon and we bumped a deer at our corn as we went in, she made it about 2 hours before her Hot Flashes and 90 degree weather really worked her over. She wants to wait for some cooler weather maybe Saturday afternoon she'll try it again. I'm going back in the morning to try it again.

Congrats Hester! :D Looks like yours should be just about as good a' eatin' as mine. Who needs them nasty old tough bucks anyway!

Yeah, that's the only tough thing about hunting this time of year is the heat and skeeters. This summer trimming out the roads down there at the farm I became convinced that the skeeters snorted and got high on Deep Woods OFF and Repel. Even had some stuff with 100% DEET that didn't seem to phase them! It kinda' confirmed my suspicions that we've got some pretty bad skeeters this year when I even had them coming in after me with a ThermaCell going right next to me and hardly no wind on Saturday at times.

Thanks Big 58 those skeeters are pretty mean this year the worst I've seen them I guess because of all the rain. I love thinning out the doe population for my meat theres no wild taste is a big fat doe.

I went this morning and saw 2 bucks I had a 5 pt.come in and eat corn for about 10 minutes I decided to film him he was very young he will be a good one if he lives another 3 years. Going back this afternoon to a different location we'll see how it turns out.

Good luck everyone

Congratulations on the harvest. Opening weekend in the NC mtns was really warm and I had to break down and get a thermacell. Already modified it so I can keep refilling this one when needed. It's supposed to be in the low 40's at nite here starting friday and I plan on checking out some state land for saturday and then back behind my house on sunday. Can't wait to harvest one with the 380 to see what its capable of. Time to order a new rangefinder though since I can shoot to 60 yards but my RX750 in bow mode only goes out to 50 yards.
