Leave bow stringed? (or is it 'strung?')

Post by Raptorman »

Hi everyone, was wondering if I should unstring the Matrix when not in use, (like we did the recurves), or do you leave it stringed during the season, and unstring it off season? ---- Appreciate the help, --Thanks

I leave all of my Exaliburs strung all the time, many do. It is not required to unstring them but some do.

So leaving a Excal recurve strung is ok? I always thought Bill said to un-string them when your not using them. ?????????

I always un-strung mine in the summer until this year. Put a new string on and just left it strung. No problems at all, just put a couple twists in the string and I was ready to shoot last week.

2 years and the only time I have unstrung it, was to try a different string. No change in speed or accuracy, just don't leave it in a vehicle, the heat will damage the limbs for sure.

I also leave my rope cocker attached to the string. I have it set up so that it pulls the string up the rail a little bit so i don't have to worry about string stretch applying pressure to the STS pads and ruining the over the winter.
