I'd get Agingcrossbower, aka Mike, to make one in a Walnut or Maple. He does an incredible job . . .he made mine and I love it.

correct me if im wrong, but they do weigh considerably more that standard stocks..

Way back when.. There was a stock maker named Mark Henegar, pretty nice.
They still go for around $300 if you can find one, kept them kinda light too.
Aging does a fine job as well.

They weigh slightly more than plastic. NO stock is perfect. Negitives and positives to both. Not sure what your comment has to do with the topic of the thread.

Wood stock may weigh more, depending on the dimensions and type of wood used.
A laminate wood stock might weigh more depending on type of wood and number of laminations and how much glue the wood holds.

Hennegar stocks another matter.
Guys have made copies with a cnc.
You won't know which you are buying.

My thoughts would be to go with an aging stock.
Made the way you want and no two will be the same. Look up his build alongs on here and you will be blown away.
