Didn't see any deer this evening, but I noticed a branch shaking on a cedar close to my stand. Couldn't tell what it was, so I got closer to get a good look.

Never a dull evening in the woods if you pay attention!

Thought it was going to be a picture of a scary little girl that greatly resembled a ceramic doll. Oh well, a snake with a bird in it's mouth is as good as anything for breaking the monotony.

The farm it's on is where I hunt 99% of the time. The landowner will run for the shotgun if he sees a snake and his wife makes him appear calm.

I emailed him a pic, so I'm sure I'll get quizzed about it's location the next time I talk to him.

A few years ago I was fishing at his pond when one swam up in front of us. He was going to head for the garage to get his shotgun when I caught it and told him I'd re-locate it to the creek on the other side of the farm. He followed me (at a good distance) to make 100% sure I didn't release it somewhere closer.

Back in the 80's when I rented a place on a farm I lived. The owner had some pretty big potato gardens and such some of the biggest black snakes I ever seen lived in or around those gardens I just let'em be as they the Black snakes weren't hurting anything at all.

Oh heck no!!! That would be a dead snake. I am sure that is some kind of cobra or anaconda!!

The only snakes I like are the ones my lawnmower spits out the side
