Fun time being the packhorse.

Post by JT of PA »

.

I was able to help out a friend who has health issues with a hunt yesterday ... I was the pack horse. :) Great time overall and was excited when I found a bedding area with hoof prints, freshly eaten acorn tops and two buck rubs. I was down in Masboy's neck of the woods and it's real pretty.

It was fun sitting in the blind, looking over the terrain and trying to figure where a deer would eat, sleep, etc.? I can see where this can get addicting, all ready we are talking about our next time out and re-positioning the blind closer to where the bedding area was.

I usually faint at the sight of blood and don't know if it's in me to kill something, but it was special being part of a hunt and a great memory was made all around.

"Thank You" to everyone who posts about their hunts and especially how they hunt. I was able to apply knowledge I learned here on the forum using the "Search" bar.

All the best,
John

PS - Met the shoulder specialist last week and I should be cleared to shoot my crossbow in about 3-4 months. It can't come soon enough.

Shoot away. Get a crank and/or a vise of some sort and have some fun. Be the day a doctor tells me not to do something I love. Switch hands if you have to and shoot off hand. You would be better for it in the future when shoulder heals. Good luck. :D

I have been looking after my bad back. A lot of days I hunt with my GT Flex at 125lbs. :P :D

Norman,

Not sure at this time, waiting to hear back from my friend. Hopefully, sooner than later.
