Finally got to break in my Ibex properly this weekend. Had this doe sneak in on us Sunday morning and didn't see her until she was within 30 yards. At 12 yards she turned broadside and the Slick Trick Magnums went to work on both lungs. Awesome blood trail and she piled up within 100 yards. It is definitely going to be harder to get excited about shooting deer with a gun later this season after that experience. Totally hooked and can't wait to get back out to the stand again.
Special thanks to Vixenmaster for the sweet red and white flemish string. Although my Cornhuskers totally let me down against Minnesota this weekend, my Excalibur didn't.
The bloodtrail was this heavy every few feet the entire way to the deer. It was just unbelievable the amount of blood she pumped out and the damage to the lungs.

BTW - My college team has been letting me down as of late too, but high school has been kicking A-- and taking names. Got to take the good with the bad.
Congratulations on your first crossbow deer!! I can see that the hook is firmly set on you now!! A deer at 12yards - any deer - is a complete rush.
I also have been shooting Slick Tricks (150gr Xbow Trick - but the same 1 1/8 blades) and my blood trails on the last 2 deer look exactly like what you showed in the pic. I have found there to be even more blood than that early on in the blood trail (within 2 yards of the shot or so) and what you showed is what it looks like when it "lightens up" a bit.

I took this picture about 60 yards into the trail and I think you are correct in that the blood was quite a bit heavier about 10 yards in. It was even spraying all over the weeds to the sides of the path. She stopped for a few seconds about 75 yards out and it looked like somebody dumped a can of bright red paint right there. We thought she was going to drop at that spot but she made it just a bit farther.
