Matrix 380 & Hawke 3x32 SR

Post by Wolverine »

Anybody shoot the Matrix 380 with a Hawke 3x32 SR scope? I sighted mine in and I'm driving tacks at 20 yards but when I move back to 30 yards, I'm shooting high and to the right, at 40 yards it's even higher and further to the right. Will this scope (work) with the Matrix with the speeds it's shooting? The Hawke scope is supposedly set for 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 yards but do you think maybe a guy needs to adjust the preset yardages? I guess I'm at a loss, any suggestions would be helpful.

No speed ring on this one. I'll have to shoot tomorrow at the longer yardages and see how it changes the 20 yard bullseyes I'm shooting now.

Go to the Hawke website. There is an app for arrow trajectories that will coincide with the aim points for your reticle. Since it is a fixed 3x scope you can't adjust for the bows speed. So your aim points will most likely NOT fall at 20,30,40 and so on...

So find your speed with a chrony, download the app, enter the arrow speed and it'll tell you what yardages coincide with your aim points. I had a fixed power hawke scope and the yardages were something like 20, 34, 47, 63 for the aim points on the reticle. The bow was shooting 360fps but the scope aim points were calibrated for an even 20,30,40,50 on a bow doing 300fps.

And that's why I won't buy a fixed power scope anymore.
