This dummy tried to decock my Equinox while in the tree stand BUT I forgot to remove the arrow first. I was lucky that my son was on the ground and quickly climbed up and was able to help out the old fool!! The BH had just started to penetrate my boot! Think, think, think.
I spent 20 bucks and bought a small discharge target.I just carry a field point with me on one bolt.I find I actually like to shoot it if I don't get anything after a hunt.Glad your ok.That could of been pretty bad.
glad you ok man..i did the same thing one time..put a nice Mercedes emblem in my boot and just started drawing blood on one of my toes...I felt like a first class duffus
it was a good thing you are humble enough to post this.
maybe itll help out some one else..save the toes is my slogan
I think of something like that happening every time I uncock my crossbow . If it happens in the dark I always feel the arrow channel to be sure there's no bolt there, even though I "KNOW" there's none there.

I went hunting with my 380 for the first time today. Saw no deer but it was only the last 3.5 hours of the day. Carried my bow back to the car cocked and used the cocking aid on firm, level ground and the recommended one hand to pull the trigger and depress the ADF device at the same time. Piece of cake even with a 260 lb draw weight.
Next time I won't be leery of doing it at the base of my tree. Don't really know why I was to begin with, I'm stronger than most my age and at least as strong as 75% that are half my age, but it just didn't seem like my full pull was taking the load off the trigger. When I finally pulled it there was barely a click and the string eased down without any problem at all.......... VERY sweet!
