Getting the dust off an Phoenix for squirrel season..
It's been a while since I shot or done anything with my Phoenix..(man hive you guys grown, in the last 4 years)...I going to try to set it up for squirrel...I was wonder if there is anything I need to look over my bow for safety..

Xbow will be fine......I'd use blunts, fwiw, I live in the land of rocks, lol, lost my taste for $10 squirrels.

Then you're ready to rumble! Keep it at least one inch from where the riser meets the rail.Brainiac wrote:Got it out an dusted it off.. The string is between the two lines...

Go to page 2 scroll thru the 3rd thread, pic there. Why would you need a pic if you got the two lines? Put your serving touching the high mark, check sights and go gig a gagger. That serving location is called 1 1/8" btw.

One more Q
Is it ok if the stock and the end of the rail aren't line up 100%.It doesn't have any cracks in the stock...?

I used to hunt squirrels with my compound. Blunts will shoot through rabbits but they just knock squirrels out of the tree, then they run off. Shot one with a target point once and the squirrel ran off with the arrow in it. Get the points with the little springs that stick out and they will work fine. Also, I used arrows called "flu-flus". They are a fluffy feather type fletching that catches the air in case you miss, don't know if they will work in a crossbow. You will have better luck with fox squirrels if they are in your area since they do not tend to be as wild. The squirrels are on the ground here a lot this time of year. If you shoot at one on the ground with those spring wire heads and miss, the arrows will fly up, otherwise they bury under the leaves. I have a hard enough time shooting them with a .22. I consistently hit about 50% in the head.
