Help - Trouble Installing String Suppressor
I'm having trouble installing S5 String Shock Sound Suppressor - got one on with little problem but the other simply doesn't seem to line up properly. Anyone else have this problem - solution?

Seems not to be lineing up properly - hole on bow may not be exactly square
Re: Help - Trouble Installing String Suppressor
Yes I had a hell of a time with one. Took the one out I had installed and used that bolt in the other side and it went in with a little fiddling. Then the one wouldn't go in that I took off so I got another bolt and it went on with little difficulty. Does it thread in the hole without going through the riser?

Re: Help - Trouble Installing String Suppressor
Try pushing the bolt all the way through the riser first then try to start the threads into the 5s

Bolt is to short to do this (have already tried ) - tomorrow will go to homedepo - will try one a little longer
Re: Help - Trouble Installing String Suppressor
I knew I read this somewhere.... From the FAQ's:
"I bought the S5 system but the bolts don't seem to thread in?
Some of our older risers had the holes off by just a thousand of an inch; the easy fix is to run an 11/32" drill bit through the hole. This will open up the hole in the riser just enough to allow the S5 bolt to fit into the housing."
Hope this helps.

Worse case take a file and remove alittle off the back of the 5s so it will line up. Don't think I'd mess with the riser

Re: Help - Trouble Installing String Suppressor
I would sand or file on a $50 set of suppressors than drill on the riser of my xbow.
Re: Help - Trouble Installing String Suppressor
some of the risers were drilled different.
Bill T addressed this when the S5s first came out ..youll need to drill the hole
out just a smidge. I don't know the drill size offhand but you want the size that almost fits. its not much.
Edit I didn't read Kegbellys post he is spot on

The 11/32" drill bit is the correct size and this will open the hole just enough to allow the bolt to go through. When we first made those risers we had no idea we would be mounting anything in there.

Re: Help - Trouble Installing String Suppressor
Finally got it on. Got a long bolt and saw how much and where I had to open up the hole. Did not have proper bit (naturally) so used next smaller size. Using the longer bolt really did the trick. Thanks for everyones help.
