Wrapping foot stirrup with what? V

Post by lswoody »

Would like to wrap my foot stirrup to help make it quieter. But don't want it to look like crap. What have you all wrapped yours with??? Add a pic if possible. Thanks!!!

I wrapped mine with a braid of paracord then found the fletching wouldn't clear it. Took it back off.
Whatever you try to put on it be sure to check to make sure arrows will clear.

I used thick rubber electrical tape then went over that with cloth camo tape just for looks. Helps a lot with the noise and vibration and makes a quiet and stable place to prop the bow up in a windowsill or rail.

I use the rubber grip that is made for wrapping the grip on a bow or compound.
Quiets it down and absorbs vibration. Waterproof too.

Ha...did the same thing Wabi did....only twice cuz I cut the first cord too short. Then realized it stuck out too far and the fletching hit it. Of course, that wasn't until I shot the first arrow....well ok. 2nd arrow. Well all right it was the 4th arrow. I thought my scope had gone wacky before I completely figured it out. Was so darn mad for wasting all that time that I just took it all off and have shot it without anything on it ever since.

Rubber electrical tape Works good Stretches as you put it on so you can get it real tight. I get the type that you peel the paper backing off to expose the sticky side
You sure you can skin griz, pilgrim??

That is a wind-icator. It tells you when the wind is blowing and what direction!!! I use the same thing on my IBEX and my re-curve but I tie on some cul-de-canard. It is a very super lite feather used in fly tying.

I just used 3M linerless rubber splicing tape 130C on my 380 .I had rubber hose zip tied to it but the splicing tape is better. The way I did mine is to just wrap the sides and leave the front uncovered .When you cock the bow the front has your foot on one side and the ground on the other if you shoot the bow often it will tear up what ever is on the front. If you hang the bow while on stand just tape the hook. I have a Blackout so black tape works for me if you want cover the 130C with camo tape .A roll is about $12 at the electrical supply house and I have enough to cover the stirrup at least 3 times (double wrapped ) with plenty to spare for hangers and stuff.

A strip of bicycle inner tube. Works as good as a Limbsaver Tentacle Wrap that was on there before though the inner tube is lasting much much longer....

Paracord 550 but I used 2 pieces leaving the center 1.5" of the stirrup uncovered.

Thats a good idea. ! It's hard to play the wind where I'm at, with all the ridges and hollows it swirls and changes directions constantly. Might have to give that a try.

I used Stealth Outdoors Stealth Strips.

Adhesive strips of stealthy material......

Also did the cheek rest and the stock from the cheek rest back, due to those areas being noisy when they bumped something. (binos/rangefinder/etc.)

That stuff works great and I have used it on other stuff with great results.
