It happens to the best of us brother. Still a very disappointing and regretful feeling, but it happens. Just jump back in the saddle and ride right on out there and bring the next one in.

Sorry about hearing you lost the deer.You might of hit it high in the liver with dark blood.I lost a deer hit there when i trailed her too soon.

Im sorry you lost her that's a bad feeling..when you say water im thinking she in there..don't know how many stories I have heard of hunters fining their deer in the water just below the surface.
don't know what your up against but if its not clear there just isn't any way to see her..
