Leupold Crossbones question

Post by Kegbelly »

I've read a lot on this scope, but have yet to find one locally to look at in person. So the question is what would the glass quality be comparable to? A VX1. VX2, a rifleman? Or better or worse?

And just how does a speed ring work, does it bump up the magnification or what? Never used one, sorry for my ignorance.

The Crossbones uses VX-1 glass. Todays VX-1 glass is yesterdays VX-2 glass that was handed down as Leupold utilized better glass throughout their entire lineup and each line recieved hand me downs without cost increases to the consumer.
You are correct about the speed ring.

Thanks enormous, that's exactly what i wanted to know. I have an old Vari-x2c and new VX's, there is a big difference between them for sure.

I am with you....I just picked up a second M380 and thought the Tact Zone was not working (red yes but green no) I changed the battery and it seems to work perfectly....so I am now the owner of 2- M380's and the assortment of standard equipment which so far seems to be working OK...I just need to get me some of Big John's BEE pink fletched bolts......    (NO I AM SERIOUS!)

...and we who own Leupold on our rifles, slug guns and muzzleloaders can definitely understand that sentiment....we also understand the the sentiment of, "if it's not broke don't fix it".....the problem as I see it is there is that damn Murphy guy always lurking in dark corners waiting to pounce!

.....the query is, "What to do?" :?

Have had no problems with mine And no complaints here other than all the other complaints Americans are spoiled brats for the most part and want everything perfect or they will complain Hell in other countries people still throw rocks at game and we complain about not being able to see through a scope And they have to sustain families with spears and stones

Absolutely, Redfield scopes by Leupold are great optics.
