How Many Times Can You Shoot An Excalibur?

Post by CozzyElectron »

How many times can you reliably shoot an excalibur recurve xbow before the limbs fail?

And is an axiom going to have less shots than say matrix 355 simply becuase of the price difference?

I don't think any of the bows will fail, unless there is operator error. Price will not matter the bows are made to shoot. I'm sure many will be handed down to the next generation. Buy the bow you desire, no bad choice in the Excal. line up.

Mine is coming up on 11 years old, still shoots like a new one. You should be good for a long, long time. They're made to last, shoot it and enjoy.

I would think that the Axiom (175lbs) has less chance of having the limbs fail.. The Matrix ( 240 lbs) in real world scaled up use may still be too early to say with definitive numbers.

As with anything man made there are a certain percent of failures resulting from a manufacturing issue. That being said the actual limb failure rate due to manfacturing issues appears to be quite low based on the low number of post to the fact on the web.
The truthful answer to your question is only known by Excalibur -Bowtech which I am sure is not available for release to anyone outside the company.
Die hard Excalibur- Bowtech fans will finger point any known failures as operator error, which dryfire is the most often reason given.
The bottomline when it comes to your guestion and most importahtly is what is Excaliburs policy / customer treatment record when a limb does fail on one of there crossbows for any reason no matter what the cause.

All I can say from my own real life experience with an Equinox is that I recieved replacements within days of reporting the issue with no hassles whatsoever.
The key to addressing any issue or question about your Excalibur crossbow is to direct call their Customer Service Number rather than playing Email tag.
Saves time making it possible to get all the necessary details neded to understand and to resolve any issue or question you may have at one time.
I think Excalibur Customer Service Reps job when it comes to addressing product issues maybe be similar to the May Tag repairman

Longest lasting, most reliable bows on the market. Even though limbs do sometimes splinter its something I never worry about with my Excaliburs

 I've asked that same question ever since it was introduced. I guess 60% longer than long limbs? What's 60% of forever?

Longer than their previous models limbs I would think

The link I posted a couple days ago showed excaliburs repeat firing machine. The video was ignored, but I assume that with the old style limb the matrix limb, the matrix limb last that much longer.

Of course, don't ever dryfire, or have an improperly adjusted string. The results would be different.

Regardless... Old limbs, matrix limbs... They have a looooooong service life!!!!

I don't think I've ever heard of a worn out Excalibur. There's a world class 3D shooter named Kenny Barr that shot his Excalibur for well over 10 years and that's going to average several thousand of shots per year. Wear one out? Hmmmm I have better things to do

The cheaper Axiom seems tough so far. My Axiom SMF is only about 3 years old, but it looks and shoots like it was brand new....same can be said of the 3 others owned by family. I want and will hopefully have a Matrix, but will not sell the Axiom to do so!
