LEUPOLD CROSSBONES???

So I found a great deal on a Leupold crossbones scope at cabelas for $229 BUT they are out of stock
after calling to see if I could back order one I was told that they have been discontinued by Leupold themselves.
Does anyone know if this is true or not
Or is it that Leupold has changed the model and it shows up as discontinued?
On Leupold's web site it still shows it but that is still 2013 update.
Just was wondering to scoop one up wherever I can or wait and see if Leupold is releasing something new and improved

Is that $229 from Cabelas Canada or US Cabelas? You did say yesterday that you are looking for the lowest price in Canada, is that correct? Are you Canadian?

Yes it's on sale in cabelas US but out of stock.
I did say best deal in Canada but for that price I cant go wrong I can just ship it to my UPS address and go pick it up as I can see NY from my house LOL.
Just still wondering what's up if they are going to discontinue them for good?

Yes I'm Canadian EH, I live near Brockville Ontario,45 min direct south of Ottawa.
There's about 1/2 mile of the mighty St.Lawerence river that's between me and New York.

The problem that I ran into numerous times is that US scope vendors will deny your purchase as a Canadian shipping to a US address without the proper US Export papers. Once they see your Canadian credit card it is all over for you.
Having a US friend who could purchase it for you is another option or your could visit a US store and buy with cash.

I contacted Leupold about the discontinued issue. As of right now the scope comes packaged either in a box or a blister pack. The boxed packaging has been discontinued.

I just purchased another dozen decoys and a Leupold VX2 at Christmas time and had no troubles in fact all 6 of my leupolds have come from either cabelas or Macks Prarie Wings along with 14 dozen full body goose decoys.
Still looking for a good deal but also looking if anyone has heard anything on Leupold dropping that line.

US can not export gun parts / scopes, but they can ship to anyone in the lower 48. And Canadians can import with no problems, I'm 30 min drive from Gander Mountain and Dick's Sporting Goods and buy numerous hunting related items parts, ammo, scopes, arrows ect. just claim it at customs and provide receits, (ammo they check your PAL).
So let me know if you need anything picked up lol.

If the Bureau of Alcohol, Firearms and Tabacco catches you on the US side before crossing into Canada whith scopes, ammo, guns and parts (they do set up Border searches) it is automatic vehicle seizure, $25,000 fine and a straight trip to jail if you get caught without the Export paperwork.
A local guy lost a $65,000 vehicle, spent 7 weeks in jail and paid the $25,000 dues for a case of shotgun shells.

Yup been through one before, your only allowed 100 rounds for personal use without a export permit.
With the price difference by the case we now buy it at lebarons for almost the same price with the duty and toll booth tolls.
