Stirrup Noise ?
I'm looking for some suggestions on different ways to silence the stirrup . I hear of people wrapping them and wondered what was the best material for that . Also has anybody ever tried the plasti-dip compound or maybe plasti-dip spray ? I would like to try something but don't know what is best .Thanks

Re: Stirrup Noise ?
The best idea I've heard of is using Line-X or Rhino Linings.
I used 3M self-adhesive tape. A few layers of that and it eliminates the tuning fork effect with no sticky residue.

I was looking at the same thing and I came across limb savers insulator strip. They are 3 1/2 long by 1/2 wide. I was thinking of sticking them down the sides to see if that helped. Haven't tried them but they might work.

Re: Stirrup Noise ?
I had mine sprayed with rhino liner. It cost me $10.00. If you do that make sure you tape off the inside and outside of the stirrup where it mounts to the bow. I didn't and had to cut the rubber off because the stirrup wouldn't sit properly and made a rattling noise. I think it works and looks great now. Wouldn't do it any other way.

I use Allen cloth tape. Works great, can get camo that closely matches your bow.

I wrapped mine in paracord leaving a small space for vane clearance.

Re: Stirrup Noise ?
I took mine off and used some cork gasket material - Hardware store plumbing dept. Punch two holes in it cut to fit between riser and stirup. Much quieter, no need to wrap it.
Re: Stirrup Noise ?
I put 3M rubber electrical tape on mine. Rino lining is a great way to go because its tough. I got the tape at lowes I know you can buy brush on herculiner at tractor supply. i did my tree stands with it my tav racks and also my atv snowplow, works great snow don't stick to the blade. If you buy another brand make sure it has the pieces of rubber in it thats what makes this stuff good. some (spray can) stuff coats it like plastic and don't last. If you buy a can of herculiner you will be doing more than the stirrup. Hope this helps

I wrapped mine with 3m tape and then used electrical tape over the 3m tape to squeeze it tight.

Re: Stirrup Noise ?
All of the above mentioned stirrup noise solutions are ok. The stirrup acts as a toning fork magnifying vibrations from the limbs thru the rail. I would suggest a piece of rubber between the stirrup and rail to help reduce vibration before getting to the stirrup. Then consider the other suggestions if more is needed.

Re: Stirrup Noise ?
Yeah but
-----when the stirrup is wrapped----doesn't it make it a very tight fit
to put boot [foot] in for cocking and uncocking ?
I have size 8 1/2 sized boots and with heavy winter boots I have to
be careful when cocking and uncocking.

Re: Stirrup Noise ?
I use the 3m rubber tape and a layer of cloth camo tape over that, IMO it doesn't add enough thickness to be a problem for me, I wear a 11 1/2 EEthe elf wrote:Yeah but
