Taking off the dissapator brackets
I am trying to take off the dissapator brackets and I am wondering if you need to take off the string to remove the brackets?

What bow do you have?
You're only paranoid if everyone isn't out to get you.

Parts Required: Part# 99870 4 10-32x1" screws. Part# 99873 2 Aluminum tapered washers. Excalibur cost would be $15.50 + for the four screws and two washers.
1. Take the pads off the bar then remove the string to relax the limbs. Remove the 4 machine bolts (2 each side) on the recoil plates for the DP bars come out.
2. Remove the limb bolt. Remove the DP bar. Remove the limb.
3. Install/reuse the rectangular shims.
4. Install the black plastic washers that were under the db bar where the limb bolt went through.
5. Install the new beveled washer with bolt.
6. Install the new bolts through the recoil plates, tighten evenly. Make sure that the rubber under the recoil plates gets a bit squashed.
7. Use blue Loctite on all bolts. Let dry overnight.
8. Restring the bow.
9. After re-stringing check the recoil plates to see if they a loose. If they are, snug them up evenly but no more than that.
10. Sight in bow.
