I have a 330. I used to have an Exomax but sold it for the 330. I cannot cock the 330 by hand, I do need the rope but it is easier to cock compared to the Exomax. I've never cocked a Vixen or Phoenix but I have cocked an Ibex. The 330 is a little more stiff however with the bow being shorter you will find it better. I don't think you will have a problem with it.

My Beautiful wife's first time shooting an Excalibur was one of her friends Pink Vixen 11 and she had no troubles cocking it. So when it came time to buying her one I teasingly asked her if she wanted the Girly Pink version? She said hell no, So when we went to our local shop and he only had one pink and no camo in the Vixen but he had a Phoenix, so she cocked it a few times and said it was a little heavier but she wanted it. Done deal we went home with it.
Now a year later when I decided to put the Exomax on the back shelf and try the new Matrix 380 the little Mrs. wanted to try it but she couldn't cock it so I cocked it for her and she shot it several times and fell in love with the shorter stock and shorter limbs and thumbhole stock. Being only 5' 5" and 117lbs the more compact style matrix she was shooting better and enjoyed it more.
So when the 330 was introduced I asked all the great people on this fourm if they thought I could detune the 330 for the little Mrs. or wait for a Matrix 305 to come out. A few said have her try it, so a trip to our local shop again and she tried the first one he got in as he saved it for her specially ( funny how her asking and batting her blue eyes at him he did save it for her) I tried the same thing with him and it didn't work I still had to wait lol
Anyways she cocked that 330 like a champ with a breeze she said its identical to her Phoenix and slightly easier as it was shorter and a shorter power stroke.
Hope this helps.
Cheers :)

I'd wait a year and let your back heal up real good!
I'd buy the 355 with a crank.
You'll have to shoot my 355 with the new

My wife has the 330 and it cocks about like an Ibex to me but with a shorter stroke, its not bad at all.

I would agree, shorter power stroke and feels about like an Ibex. Touch stiffer than the vixen 11 but and easy bow to cock.
