Tammie, I am so very, very sad to hear that. Dogs are everything to me. I cannot imagine how I would not end up in jail had that happened to me.
I'll be shedding some tears for your baby.

Man I hate hearing about your dog ....people shoot for the heck of it sometimes ..My heart goes out to you. I had a baby pig get out the lot once and it got shot...the guy said he thought it was a skunk  Like was he going to eat the skunk ? Never made it right with me.

thanks you guys he was my teddy bear, but also able to run a 440 & at 90plus pounds he could look real scary with his hackles up.got him into trouble quick with the elderly couple down the road.my husband is beside himself because this happened when he got home from work.very unfortunate chain of events.cant blame the people who did it for having loaded guns in every corner cause I do too.and I don't feel comfortable sittin here while my husband is working without a big as# dog @ my feet!gotta suck it up & go to work because well that's what I do...t

That is an awful thing to happen..
You are a big person for not blaming the shooter, but I can imagine the pain.
Sorry for your loss, we are dog people too.

The Rainbow Bridge .... inspired by a Norse legend

By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,
Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.
Where the friends of man and woman do run,
When their time on earth is over and done.

For here, between this world and the next,
Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.
On this golden land, they wait and they play,
Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.

No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,
For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.
Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,
Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.

They romp through the grass, without even a care,
Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.
All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back,
Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.

For just at that instant, their eyes have met;
Together again, both person and pet.
So they run to each other, these friends from long past,
The time of their parting is over at last.

The sadness they felt while they were apart,
Has turned into joy once more in each heart.
They embrace with a love that will last forever,
And then, side-by-side, they cross over… together.

Hope you find some peace as you recall fond memories.

Sorry to hear of your loss.
Thing like that don't happen around these parts , because the shooter would end up in jail, and have all guns taken away.
