Another New Guy!

Post by Starvin' Hillbilly »

Hi all, yeah it's another new guy. I got the crossbow bug when my 70 y.o. dad got one for Christmas. When January rolled around I popped into a dealer to see what they had and they suggested a brand. So, in today's modern world I started digging on the pc.

I searched the brand they suggested through retailers bass pro and cabela's and the reviews weren't that great. What I did see is the 5 star reviews on Excalibur crossbows, not just one, but all! So, here I am. Just about got enough saved for a Matrix 330 or 355, still hung on the fence to which, and when possible I will ask a lot of questions of you folks on the whole topic crossbows, and probably obtain some of the services provided by members here.
Sorry, I don't have any technical support (bolt building, string building, or machining) to offer the members here for my career path is of the enforcement type. . . lol. But I can share my love for hunting and the game I pursue.
You see, in this world there's two kinds of people, my friend: Those with loaded guns and those who dig. You dig.-Blondie,

Welcome to the Forum. 355 vs 330 both are very good models. Really depends on the speed you want yer arrows to be. I jus put a 355 on layaway because i may want to use a heavier arrow. The faster speed will give better trajectory.
