Yup a shotgun would get me into trouble shootin a theif on the outside of cabin. 30 days in the can would make him/her more determined to steal from me.

That stinks, sorry to hear that Mike. My buddy had a Summit Goliath climber stolen off our lease this past season. I hate a thief

Oh man, Mike, that sucks! Hate to live thinking that someone is sneaking in and helping themselves. Can you get a solar powered flood light with motion detector for that?

Hate to hear that VM :(
A friend of mine had someone try to take his motor off his boat a couple of times, so being an electrician he ran some wires to the motor and made it "hot"
Took a few nights but was awakened around 2am by some screams...caught his thief!!

Hate to hear it, hopefully they were just some hungry neighbors that thank you in a day, or two. I would put up some game cameras in the vicinity, or lights activated by motion.
Good luck, and be careful.

Yup, as said, infrared trail cams, but include one old cheapo flash model, sometimes just seeing a flash go off in the dark is more than enough to make someone take off, and if they do not you get a pic of them with the other infrared cams.

Damn sorry to hear that Mike Sounds like it was somebody who is very familiar with how and where you store your food. I don't think it was by chance they stumbled on your place They had to know all about how you do things. Hidden camera's, line strung up about neck high with treble hooks every few feet, trip wire at ankle height, couple of punji stake hidden pits on the trails. Fix them up real good

Make sure you post the boundries of your land in the legal required fashion so you are protected when you shoot the SOB's
You sure you can skin griz, pilgrim??
